Living in a tropical country is fine and dandy, but at certain times of the year we have to undergo rainy season, just to balance things up a bit. We are currently in the middle of the rainy season in Pattaya, which can hamper your plans somewhat if you want to go to the beach or visit the zoo or another outdoor pursuit. If it’s rainy today, check out these things to do on a rainy day in Pattaya.
Visit a shopping center
When on holiday in Thailand, shopping is one of our favorite pastimes because the prices are so affordable and there are a wide range of products available. When it’s raining, visiting a shopping center such as Central Festival on Pattaya Beach Road is the ideal strategy.
Set over several floors, the center has a multitude of restaurants, game areas, an international-style food market, a food court and masses of boutique shops selling everything from the latest fashion items and kid’s toys, to electronic goods and much more. You could easily wile away a few hours at Central Festival while it’s raining.
Go for a massage
When it rains, you have lots of time on your hands to go and have a massage. From cheap 200 THB Thai massages that you will find on Pattaya Beach Road, and more specifically on Soi Bukhao, to upscale and 5-star spa boutiques, having a massage when on holiday in the country is essential.
Go to the cinema
Going to the cinema always kills a few hours. The 2 main cinemas near Pattaya Beach Road are those inside the Central Festival and Avenue Complex shopping centers. Both offer state of the art facilities that are geared towards Westerners. The prices are inexpensive and all the latest movies are shown. If it’s raining, take the kids along to the cinema, as they will thank you later.
