At News Steak & Grill, we always have time to offer advice to any tourists visiting our restaurant who want to know about the best places in Pattaya and Jomtien to visit. We have lots of families joining us for evening meals and they always want to know about the best places in the region that are geared towards families. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy as a family, check out these 3 popular attractions in the region.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo
The kids love visiting a zoo, but who doesn’t enjoy seeing some of the world’s most stunning creatures up close and personal? Located approximately an hour’s drive (or a bit longer depending on traffic) outside the city over towards Khao Kheow, the open zoo is one of the most famous and popular zoos in the region. The part about this zoo is that it’s akin to a conservation center that researches and studies biological resources to conserve animals and their natural habitat.

The open zoo is home to over 300 species and over 8,000 animals in total, set amidst a 2000-acre wildlife sanctuary where you can get really close to the animals within spectacular jungle scenery. With a night safari, elephant treks, tram rides, zip-lines and much more, this a great family attraction.

Pattaya Underwater World
Pattaya Underwater World is the only aquarium in the city, but as it happens, is also one of the best you will find in Thailand. Located in an easy-to-find position on Sukhumvit Road in Jomtien, wherever you are staying in the city, it is never more than a 10-minute drive away.

The park covers an area of 12-rai and is one of the most modern aquariums in the nation, coming with a 100-meter long acrylic pedestrian tunnel that meanders through the natural habitat of many kinds of marine life. The aquarium is home to over 4,000 marine creatures and 200 different species such as sharks, turtles, many kinds of fish and even rare creatures such the shovelnose ray, which is a hybrid between a shark and a stingray.

Open from 9am until 6pm every day, this is one of the best family attractions in Pattaya.

Cartoon Network Amazone Water Park
Pattaya’s biggest, and some say grandest, brand new family attraction is the adrenalin-filled Cartoon Network Amazone Water Park near Bang Sare. The park is just a 5-minute drive from Nong Nooch Gardens, so is a 30-minute drive outside the city. There are a mass amount of water slides and flumes, themed around cartoon networks stars such as Finn & Jake, Johnny Bravo and many more. This is not only one of the newest, but also one of the best water parks in Thailand. Open from 10am to 6pm every day, this is the ultimate water park experience.
